About Us

The name Wynoose comes from a Native Amerian meaning "Wy" - is where two rivers join, "noose" - land between two rivers. In our case Wynoose sits between the Fox River and the Little Wabash River. These two items bring us to our name Wynoose Trading Company.

Our dad often told the story of a Shawnee man, in the 1930's what would come to Wnnoose to trade hides and wares for tobacco.  His name as been forgotten but the story resonated with us.
